Salary: Up to £26,140 per annum
Location: Southampton College, Eastleigh College
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week

As a result of our provision expanding, our work placement team needs to grow too!  This diverse role requires somebody who is organised and efficient, and capable of managing their own diary as well as multiple tasks and priorities.  Some reporting is required, as is use of college systems in line with processes, so strong IT literacy is essential. 

We are looking for Work Placement Officers in to work in Southampton College and Eastleigh College.

You will need to be a 'people person' capable of communicating effectively with students, as well as building relationships and rapport with curriculum staff and employer partners alike.

Duties:

  • Co-ordinating and recording all work placement programmes for all students across college in partnership with curriculum.
  • Working closely with Curriculum staff and employers to ensure a pro-active approach to developing and promoting all placements across college.
  • Managing employer relationships with the College to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Promoting the Business Plus team, working with Lead Business Partners to establish links with employers who are keen to support learners on all work placement programmes.
  • Attend external events, as appropriate, to develop stakeholder relationships and strengthen college group reputation
  • Host internal events, as appropriate, to develop stakeholder relationships and strengthen college group reputation
  • To actively convert opportunities from WEX placements to Apprenticeship opportunities, working with partners across teams to convert all available opportunities in line with KPIs

 

 

Skills/Experience:

  • Ensure outstanding customer service to all customers for the department (including internal and external, colleagues, students, apprentices and employers). 
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Strong IT and keyboard skills including use of email and online tracking systems

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification
  • Relevant qualifications in any of the following areas: IAG counselling / mentoring / youth work
